LOGAN's BABY BLESSING

It was such a beautiful Sunday. We all gathered in my in-laws living room to bless this sweet baby on March 11th. He screamed through the whole thing. The men who I love who were there to participate in his sweet blessing was his Grandpa McKnight. Uncle Brandon and Mike. Great-Grandpa Hair and Uncle Derrick, Benji and Chase.

Grandpa McKnight said that during the blessing Ashton was running all around. He wanted to be with the men so he was running around the circle of men and finally found an opening next to Ralph and squeezed through. He was standing right in the middle of the circle looking straight up at Logan. Finally he ran back out.

He was told in his blessing he was a precious son of his Heavenly Father that he was born during a time of many trials an difficulties. He will be blessed with spiritual gift to help him through and he will help guide others. He would be bless through is life to develop strong relationships with friends and family. He would give strength and support. He would be blessed with a strong sense of compassion. He would be blessed with the ability to sense the spirit. He should listen and use the spirit as a guide his his life. He was blessed with a strong sense of accountability to know right from wrong and avid the pitfalls of life. He would be blessed with a strong physical body and mind.

I was nursing Ashton right before his blessing. Uncle Brandon was upstairs playing the piano and the music was so beautiful. You would feel this sweet spirit enter the McKnight home. I was so grateful for that moment.

We ate burritos and brownies and ice cream afterwards. Caleb went to the store with me the day before and helped me shop. I couldn't have done it without him. He helped we push the cart and load and unload everything while I held Logan. He was such a huge blessing.

We got to see Angela and her four beautiful kids. They were so sweet to make the trip down to see Logan blessed.

Sacrament meeting was so inspiring that day. The bishop gave the most inspiring talk. He talked about the twelve apostles and how when Jesus told them that one of them was going to betray him each one of them responded in kind, "Lord, is it I?" He talked of how often we point fingers at each other instead of looking deeply in ourselves and asking that critical question, "Lord, is it I?"

He also talked about Thomas. He said, most of us know him as the doubting Thomas but few of us remember other scriptures about him. At one point he was willing to die for the Savior or with him. He said,"Let us also go, that we may die with him." He was going to raise Lazarus from the dead and the people of that area wanted Christ dead. He was talking how often we put people in boxes and forget the good that they are and do and instead choose to remember the bad.

It was a rich day.
