STILL LEARNING

I altered a pair of hand-me-down pants to shorts today. Sierra loved the flower applique on the front of the jeans. She kept telling me how sad she was that I cut if off. Well, I removed the applique from the pant leg and added it to the leg of the shorts. I was so excited to tell her what I had done. She was playing the bathtub. I said, "Sierra look at what I did? Doesn't it look so nice?" She replied, "No, it looks dumb." I was shocked and little taken back. I paused and looked at her with a question in my eye. She said, "Mom, dumb means shorts, right?" I replied, "Ah, no, dumb does not mean shorts." She asked, "Then what does dumb mean?"
